Actress Kathy Najimy on Monday made several stops across eastern Iowa on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who will appear in Des Moines on Wednesday.
The actress, who starred in Hocus Pocus and Sister Act, met with Iowans in Burlington, Iowa City, and Cedar Rapids to thank Clinton campaign volunteers and push Clinton’s 100 Day Jobs Plan.
“When I say I’m going to Iowa, people say, ‘please thank them- those are the tough states,'” Najimy told a crowd of about 25 people gathered at Fair Grounds Cafe in Iowa City.
Najimy’s Iowa tour came as GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump unveiled his jobs plan in a speech at the Detroit Economic Club while his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, held rallies in Sioux City and Council Bluffs.
Clinton will make her first appearance in Iowa since last month’s Democratic National Convention when she discusses her jobs plan at Lincoln High School in Des Moines on Wednesday.
“The biggest difference between Hillary’s plan and Trump’s is that, well, she has one,” Najimy said.
